Roland Jourdain and Jean-Luc Nélias have been giving interview after interview: TV, radio and even the papers. They are always on the go; there’s not a minute’s rest before the much-awaited start. It should be said that there are a lot of journalists clamoring for their attention: almost 250 press members have been accredited. They have come from across France of course, but not only. The Spanish are here, which is not surprising given the presence of W Hotel in the race, as are the British who never miss any important race. From further afield, the Chinese are here as well, no doubt with their interest in sailing an after-effect of the Olympic Games.

Some media have rolled out the big guns. France Info and France Bleue have even set up their own radio studios right in the Transat Village. They are broadcasting live every day, and their listeners will be able follow both the start and the finish, as these networks’ correspondents will be dispatched to Costa Rica. This Friday, Laurent Ruquier and his associates in the program “On va s’gêner” (Anything goes) on the Europe 1 radio network have also set up shop dockside for a live broadcast in which they will obviously be talking about the Transat Jacques Vabre 2009.
So with all that, you have no excuse not to keep up with the latest news about this event, which is shaping up to be truly fabulous.
